3 Steps to Effective Content Creation

If you have the desire to create content but feel stuck, or you are not getting the results you want from the content you already produce, there are three things you can implement today to start your content creation and generate revenue from your efforts.

Here at Q6 Media, we’ve been managing content creation, for a wide variety of industries, for over a decade and have generated millions of dollars in sales as a result of our efforts.

We recognize that it can be difficult for many companies to find the proper direction for content creation. This leaves some befuddled and unable to start, and others overwhelmed to the point of ineffectiveness. If you want to get out of this rut, start producing content, and generate income from your content, we are here to help.

We have built our own content creation to reach over 2 million people per month, and have consulted with major businesses to help them grow and implement successful content creation strategies.

Content creation is the act of producing and sharing information or media content for specific audiences, particularly in digital contexts.

Here are 3 things that you can start doing to start or improve your content creation:

Generate Ideas

This is considering you do not already have a dedicated content team to help you in the ideation process. In order to generate ideas for content creation, there are multiple platforms you can find quality ideas on.

First, we recommend going on social media such as Instagram, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube to see what people are posting in your industry or field. These posts could be by those you support or even those who are your direct competitors- the key is to search for what is going viral or gaining significant traction.

Second, you can search Google Trends to get a general idea of how many searches are being conducted on your topic of interest. The more something is trending, or picking up steam, the higher chance you have to receive views on your content. There are also other paid websites and apps that can provide more in-depth statistics on trending topics. Be sure that the content you decide to post is original, and meets your mission and vision statements to stay on brand.

Third, there is content that is currently relevant and other content that is always needed in your particular field. For example, maybe there is a current cooking trend of cooking pancakes in an air fryer – this sort of content needs to be out quickly while it is relevant. There is also evergreen content such as how to cook honey sesame chicken that should be up on any reputable recipe website. Consider what is only current, and what is evergreen, then schedule out the evergreen pieces to give you enough time to work on the current trends throughout the year.

Action Step: Go to Pinterest, find 2-3 people who you want to sell to, and look at their boards and pins. This will give you insight into their hobbies, desires, needs, and affinity group. Use this information for content ideas!

Content Diversification

By producing diverse content, you will maximize your outreach capacity. This includes social media, influencers, article writing, video content, podcasts, vlogs, blogs, infographics, landing pages, emails, guides, e-books, webinars, white papers, press releases, tutorials, case studies, and more. There are many ways of diversifying your content portfolio. Not every outlet option is a good or viable option, but knowing that there are multiple options will encourage you to maximize your efforts in every way possible. Each content outlet can help scale without losing traction and quality. It is important to understand your target market while meeting your audience where they are most likely to engage with your content.

Using the look and feel of your brand + your target buyer’s Pinterest aesthetic, create multiple pieces of content for each idea/theme you discover. Think about everywhere that you can post content and what’s native to each platform. Pro Tip, if you’re not on Reddit, you’re missing the boat with consumer engagement.

Consistency

Sticking to a schedule when it comes to posting content is extremely important for your brand and its respective growth. Consistency can indicate consistent scheduling as well as keeping consistent in branding. Consistency creates a sense of trust and reliability while strengthening your reputation.

For scheduling consistency, think of your favorite podcasts, such as the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast– it consistently posts at 1 pm EST Tuesday through Friday, and you don’t have to wonder when the next episode is going to release.

For branding consistency, consider Chick-Fil-A, they are open Monday through Saturday, and you know why throughout their entire business model from their mission statement, vision statement, signature billboards and advertisements, and so on.

Once you have the content that you are going to post, schedule it to remain consistent while staying on brand. Try to have a few months’ worth of content scheduled so you can focus your efforts on content creation for current trends as they happen throughout the year. If you decide that every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you have XYZ released, be sure to not change that schedule. For current trends, if you can post the day of, that’s amazing! But for most websites, as long as it comes out around the week of, you should be fine. Just remain consistent.

For example, our goal for Instagram is 5 vertical videos, under 60 seconds, per week because we see that’s what IG is rewarding.

There are a lot more tips, tricks, and strategies for quality content creation, and these three tips are a great way to start. By implementing these tips, you can seriously increase your content creation and generate revenue.
